India has witnessed a wave of startup launches in the past couple of years. The success rate of these startups is so high that many have even entered the unicorn club in just a matter of months from their launch.

But did you know that there are many successful business ideas that were started by a husband-wife duo? From Chumbak to Cureveda, there are many brands that have the brains and efforts of a power couple to make them a success today. Here are some other brands that were started by couples and have proven to be a huge success.

Chumbak

Chumbak was started by husband-wife duo Vivek Prabhakar and Shubhra Chadda in 2010 in Bengaluru. The company initially offered souvenirs that were based on Indian themes. Today, it has expanded into selling phone cases, jewelry boxes, laptop sleeves, and kitchenware, amongst other things.

To add to its achievements, Chumbak is one of the first Indian brands to be featured in a Facebook case study worldwide.

ABL Workspaces

ABL Workspaces was founded in 2017 by the husband-wife duo Akshita Gupta and Ankur Gupta. This Delhi-based company entered the market with a very unique concept of co-working spaces. As of 2020, the company has a total of 10 centers and 2,700 seats, each priced between Rs 6,000 and 16,000 per month.

Cureveda

Cureveda is India leading herbal organic online store in India which was founded by Bhavna Anand Sharma and her husband Siddhesh Sharma in 2014.

In 2019, Cureveda won the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises’ Brand of India award in the healthcare category.

Priyanka Save and Nagesh Pai wanted to give a unique experience of enjoying alcoholic beverages like never before. Indians have been curious to try on new beverage drinks and Fruzzante has proven to be a very adventurous drink. It offers a range of sparkling alcoholic beverages with 6% alcohol, 100% fruit, and a farm-to-bottle promise.

Sparkle

Sparkle was founded in 2017 by Hetal and Chirag Virani, who had the vision to make an affordable and biodegradable pad. After completing college, Hetal realized that there are many girls who could not afford menstrual hygiene products. As a part of their contribution to the welfare of women, the startup donates one sanitary napkin for each napkin purchased under its initiative called, ‘Buy One, Give One’.
