I wanted to send a personalised #ganeshchaturthi message to all on the morning of the festival .Hence, I made the preparation a day in advance. I draped a gorgeous black & red#cotton #thekotakollective @afsarnama @amarjyotchahal to record a #Ganesha Arati & my personalised greetings. I shared the greetings at 1.30AM so that it wouldn’t get buried in the deluge of WhatsApp messages. The #handloom #saree is a #giftoflove from my bestie. The saree is a black one with a broader lower border with a red strip & a silver strip with woven #goldenzarimotifs in the form of #elephants and #treeoflife.A strip of red with golden zari #paisleymotifs separates the border from the body. The narrow upper border has a similar strip followed by a plain silver zari strip ending in a red selvedge. The body of the saree has woven motifs in silver , gold & copper thread in the form of elephants & tree of life, which continue into the pallu which has horizontal strips of copper & silver zari and ends in a red strip. The elephants made me choose this #ootd to welcome #elephantgod #Ganesha. I paired it with it’s own red blouse. Jewellery-#dholkibeadset in golden finish with red string. Needless to say the #handcraftedbindi had to be a Ganesha, copied from a sketch seen on the net, created using red liquid bindi. #Potli is a #dilhaibenarasi one. This came with dry fruits & a wedding invite from a friend who hails from Benaras. She specially bought new sarees and got potlis customised. Knowing my love for potlis,she had chosen the one made from the pallu, for me. I was deeply touched. My SIL, my BIL & we all have 2 daughters and we are 5 sisters. We never faced any discrimination.
