A record number of startups have been emerging in India in the past years. And this year has been no different. An increasing number of startups are being funded by our Bollywood celebs, who have wish to explore their entrepreneurial side along with their artistic one.

And then there are stars who launched their own brands in various fields. Let’s take a look at five of them, who own started their own brands this year.

1. Deepika Padukone

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone co-found a self-care brand 82E in November’22. Products of the brand are clean, vegan and cruelty-free, authentically sourced and clinically tested.

Deepika led seed funding for the brand in early 2022 and the brand raised USD 7.5 million. The inaugural month saw the launch of Ashwagandha Bounce moisturizer and Patchouli Glow sunscreen drops debuting.

2. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

The multi-talented global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas launched her haircare brand Anomaly this year.

The entire range is clean, cruelty-free, and vegan. Along with it, it is also affordable, as the focus is on formulation, rather than packaging.

With three kinds of shampoo and conditioner each, dry shampoo, and mask, Anomaly is already making waves in the market.

The product tagline is pretty interesting too- Unconventional haircare, intentionally created.

3. Akshay Kumar

He launched a release video calling the products as being engineered with emotion. He has joined the club of Bollywood actors who own apparel brands, like Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt.

4. Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha co-founded a rather interesting and quirky product- SoEzi, a press-on nail brand. This is a highly unexplored market in the country and has nails in every dimension- from matte to glossy, from coffin-shaped to almond-shaped, from ombre to glitter, you name it, they have it.

And this has taken the world of fashion by storm!

5. Masaba Gupta

Fashion designer and actor Masaba Gupta launched the brand LoveChild in August this year. The daughter of cricketer Viv Richards and actor Neena Gupta, Masaba has been called a lovechild all her life. And now she decided to own the title.
