Documentarian Morgan Spurlock made this brilliant documentary about branding, advertising and product placement which was interestingly financed by corporate sponsorship. This American romantic comedy film directed by Nancy Meyers showcases an advertising executive who magically acquires the ability to hear what women are thinking. He uses his newfound power in the boardroom to design ad films that capitalize on women’s hopes and fears. A great film made on advertising indeed.

4. How To Get Ahead In Advertising (1989)

This classic from 1989 is one of the greatest movies of the 80s. Starring Richard E. Grant, “How To Get Ahead In Advertising” showcases an emotionally disturbed ad executive who starts questioning the ethics of his profession. While he is stuck on writing a good slogan for a pimple cream he faces a crisis of conscience as his mental state deteriorates.

5. Looker (1981)
