  • boAt dominated India’s TWS market for the third consecutive quarter in Q1 2021, growing 576% YoY.
  • Three out of five brands are amongst the top brands in terms of market share in Q1 2021 are of Indian origin.

According to the latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT service, India’s TWS market has posted 156% YoY growth in Q1 2021. The segment experienced high growth during the first quarter but is likely to get affected in Q2 due to the lockdowns imposed in the majority of the country due to COVID19. During these lockdowns, the demand and supply of the products are likely to get hampered, affecting the market growth eventually.

However, there have been 5 players in the TWS market that have taken the lead as the ones with the most market share in terms of sales and popularity in Q1.

With the ‘Make in India’ initiative at large, and the quality of the products, three out of the five brands are of Indian origin. In fact, boAt has topped the list with 28% of the market share in Q1 2021, growing 576% YoY. These are the top 5 brands on the list.

1. boAt

Out of the top 5 models list for shipments in Q1 2021, Boat was able to claim three spots, contributing to 50% of the shipments of the top 5 models. The brand’s excellent marketing strategy during the IPL2021 could be credited as one of the major reasons for its tremendous success.

boAt’s Airdopes 131 model stood in second place of the top 5 models with almost 7% market share. boAt’s TRebel exclusive collection was the major hit, especially amongst women.

2. OnePlus

OnePlus‘ Buds Z model was the best-selling model in Q1 2021 with almost 10% share. ‘The Final Horizon Sale’ by the brand was the major contributor to its growth.

3. realme

realme recorded a 125% YoY growth along with maintaining the third position in the top 5 brands list. Buds Q by realme was amongst the top 5 best-selling models in Q1 2021.

4. ptron

ptron, a Hyderabad-based brand, was able to up its game this year by launching multiple models back to back and that too in an affordable price range.

5. Noise

Noise, another Indian brand, was spotted in the top 5 brand’s list. As per the report by Counterpoint, celebrity endorsement, strong product portfolio, and launching models at introductory pricing resulted in its comeback in the top 5 brands’ list for Q1 2021.
