5 Reasons To Put OnePlus NORD In Your Pocket. NOW!

| Published on August 6, 2020

You will LOVE flaunting it!

OnePlus has never tried to find a middle-ground on the look & feel which is why they have been super successful. This time too, Nord comes with super sleek and buttery smooth feel. An all-glass device that comes with a plastic-frame is a well-built strong model. The hold is quite similar to matte finish of OnePlus 8 so if you felt price was a bit too high for OnePlus 8, NORD is the best choice. Side bars are the same while a type-C port for headphones & power, both. OnePlus has launched NORD in two colors: Blue Marble & gray Onyx. Both look fantastic but my personal favorite is Blue Marble. It just stands out & your friend will definitely want to see & feel once.

Display exactly like OnePlus 8

Seems like OnePlus didn’t want to compromise on NORD’s Display. NORD comes with Fluid AMOLED capacitive touchscreen &16M colors. Device’s display is totally coherent, with a resolution of 1080 X2400 pixels and a pixel density of 408 ppi, the detailing on viewing angles &sunlight viewing is bang on. Mind you, it’s got marginally better PPI than OnePlus 8 (408 as compared OnePlus 8’s 402). You can switch from a 90 Hz to 60 Hz to save some battery. The UI isn’t too cluttered which gives a sense of control & clarity.

Sustained Battery power & backup

Another feather in the cap for OnePlus has been its battery and NORD will not disappoint you as well. Powered with Non-removable Li-Po 4115 mAh battery, NORD’s fast charging is 30W, 70% in 30 min. Movie and Gaming both can be sustained for half a day easily. If your usage is calling/receiving, social apps and a bit of gaming then 6GB RAM model is a good choice. A bit heavy user should opt for an upgraded model.

Front & back Camera review

OnePlus have raised the bar in Picture quality especially in Selfies. NORD gives you 32-megapixel Sony IMX616 Camera & 8-megapixel wide-angle secondary camera. 4 at the back and 2 at the front is what NORD gives. UI is similar to other OnePlus models, you can swipe up & start shooting. NORD makes sure you get the best Selfie output which is a brilliant thing. NORD can shoot 4K 60fps video from a selfie camera while OnePlus 8 and 8 pro still clinging on 1080p. An interesting thing OnePlus did this time is to collaborate with a well-known photographer Hannes Becker to create 3 special built-in filters. The filters are inspired by the Nordic countries of Finland, Sweden, and Norway. That sure sounds and believe us, looks fantastic.

Dual Front cameras

NORD comes with a main sensor of 48MP Sony IMX586 with OIS along with 3 secondary sensors of 8, 2 and 5 MP which makes it pretty good at giving a great picture quality. Focus capability and colors come out flawlessly under good light conditions. For low light, you might have to adjust a bit via manual settings. In this segment, NORD delivers the best quality picture due to its high on performance lens that it uses. The wide-angle camera also has a decent output not the best of it though. Autofocus is pretty swift. It can shoot up to 4K 30fps with the main and wide-angle cameras.

Heavy duty performance

The Display is slick, the battery is a powerhouse, now it all comes to performance. NORD will not disappoint anyone, from heavy users to gamers. This comes from using the phone for over a week. There are no flounders or any kind of lag since its powered with 765G Snapdragon processor with 5G capabilities (as and when it comes to India). Heavy gamers could push the processor & will still find it without any stutters. I tried my hand at PUBG and COD & it didn’t seem to give any problem at all. And, since the graphics are top notch, the experience was immersive. OS is exactly like their flagship models infact they have rectified the bugs and is much cleaner & sharper.

Is it a Yes or a No?

If you compare it with the devices present in the market in the same range, OnePlus NORD nails it in performance. On paper it might look lower than its competitors but its software performance & promise of regular updates makes it the best within this segment of 20K-35K. Infact it’s so close to OnePlus 8, people might just reconsider their investment considering majority of it is covered in NORD.
