8 Artisanal Coffee Brands One Must Try

The artisanal coffee segment in India is growing by leaps and bounds with millennials experimenting with newer flavors, aromas, textures and roast profiles, rather than just opting for an instant coffee fix. This has given rise to a whole community of coffee lovers, who are exploring various methods of brewing and making blends which weren’t even thought of, a few years ago. Let’s take a look at some artisanal coffee brands in the country

1. Blue Tokai


Delhi-based couple Matt Chitharanjan and Namrata Asthana started Blue Tokai in 2013. It offers freshly roasted coffee sourced from more than ten estates spread over Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Their offerings include freshly roasted ground coffee, roasted coffee beans, sachets, cold brew bags that are nitrogen flushed and even specialty teas. Their Baarbara Estate Medium Dark roast and Vienna Roast Arabica are some of their best-selling products.

2.Coffeeza


The Coffee beans at Coffeeza are sourced from around the globe. They are then made into intense coffee blends and converted into coffee capsules with oxygen-barrier properties, allowing for a longer shelf-life.

3. Halli Berri


The coffee beans are grown on their own plantations in Chickmagalur. Run by the women of the Kariappa family, the brand has been able to carve a legacy for itself in the artisanal gourmet specialty coffees segment in the country. Their coffees are made in small batches to retain intensity for caffeine lovers and a signature honey-dew flavor remains unmissed from each of their blends.

4. Sleepy Owl coffee


A homegrown Indian coffee brand started by three friends, have a variety of hot and cold brews, signature arabica coffee beans and filter coffees. All of their products are made using 100% Arabica beans that are roasted in small batches to ensure taste and intensity and packed in eco-friendly sustainable materials.

5. KCROASTERS by Koinonia


Fresh coffee beans are roasted every day at KCROASTERS by Koinonia. Their single origin Arabica coffees are sourced from various estates in the South of the country and are thoroughly tested at different stages and are made into a variety of blends. A cask aged coffee is a specialty which is made by roasting coffee beans that have been aged in whiskey barrels.

6.Dope Coffee Roasters


The coffee beans at Dope are being sourced from more than 75 coffee estates. Dope Coffee Roasters was found by coffee hobbyist Rizwan Amlani. It has also collaborated with SOCIAL to serve at their various outlets.
