| Published on January 27, 2022

The 90s was an era, a vibe that one who has already experienced it can tell without any doubt. Be it those unforgettable and catchy jingles or the beautiful story-telling presentation filled with life, the 90s Indian ads have definitely set up a mark and left their footprints on our hearts and mind. For ages now, the Television landscape in India has witnessed several changes when it comes to advertisement. There has been change in the pattern of story-telling, the way of presentation, a change in the subject matter but despite all of these changes one thing that remains constant is the continuous effort of these TV ads to touch and inspire us in a way thereby bringing about a change for real. The 90s on that note was an era where we witnessed simplicity at its best. It was an era filled with values, morals and grave issues presented in a simple manner in terms of advertisements. Let’s take a quick nostalgic trip into the 90s ad lanes!

Ujala

Who can forget this legendary and very popular ad by Ujala. The jingle still plays in our mind as we write this. LOL!

Amul-The Taste Of India

Amul India has always surprised us with their unique and catchy advertisement. whether it be the concept or the jingle that gets stuck in our head. This ad by Smita Patil is indeed a special one. Let’s check it out:

Cadbury Dairy Milk

Our favorite Dairy Milk chocolate has had some of the most solid ad films generation after generation. But this 90s ad by Cadbury still remains a special one.

Complan

Growing up we all have had complan just sp that we could say “I am a complan boy/girl!” that too in absolute style same as in the TV ad. Nostalgic isn’t it?

Frooti

Who all remembers this kid from the legendary ad by Frooti? This ad definitely made our childhood a lit one!

Kissan

Remember the time when we all wanted to be like Jammy? Yes, our Jammy from the Kissan ad has nailed it in style! This Kisaan ad featuring Rahul Dravid has made all of us go ‘woah’ back then. Let’s take a look at it once more:

Lifebuoy

This ad film by Lifebuoy has won hearts especially with it’s catchy jingle (still humming the tune as we write this). The concept goes somewhat like this, the scenario of a football match and how using lifebuoy after a rough day at the match will save the players from getting infection an germs.

MDH Masala

One of the most buzzing and legendary ad of the era! This ad film by MDH featuring the ‘grand old man’ named Dharmpal Gulati, who is apparently the owner of the company has won our hearts in every possible way.

Nirma

One of the most popular jingles till date, Nirma has definitely set a benchmark in the advertisement domain.

Vasmol

“Vasmol ne kiya kamaal” still remains one of the most popular jingles and ad films from the 90s era. Take a look at this remarkable ad:

Times might have changed but what remains the same is the urge to try out something new continuously thereby bringing about an overall change and these 90s ad films are a beautiful presentation of the same.
