The most recent launch by the country’s tech giant, Jio Phone Next, which is set to release in Diwali has been creating quite a stir in the market.

This low-budget high-performance smartphone has been developing much fervor in the market. Stemming out as a Reliance Jio and Google brainchild, this smartphone will be going on sale this Diwali after the prior launch in September, during Ganesh Chaturthi was postponed. Let’s have a look at the specifications and features.

Pricing Schemes:

The price for this smartphone is set at Rs 6,499 and will be available on down payment and EMI plans. The entry price for the same is set at Rs 1,999 post which the remaining amount can be paid through EMIs spanning a period of 18 to 24 months. There are also 4 different JioPhone Next EMI plans that are being made to the consumers.

What’s inside the box?

Along with the Jio Phone Next, you will also receive a 5W charging adapter along with a micro USB charging cable and a removable battery pack. The warranty card and user guide come in handy too.

This phone is one of the most durable smartphones to have been released and packs in an element of nostalgia in the phone. Reminding you of the first smartphones that came out, this phone imbibes all elements of feature phones and offers a product which satisfies someone who isn’t extremely well-versed with smartphones but needs them for day-to-day activities. However, the smartphone doesn’t come with a lot of pre-installed applications or bloatware and those downloaded are primarily the ones offered by Jio and Google. The mobile is ideal for anyone who wants to switch from a normal feature phone to his first smartphone

For the price at which the mobile is offered, one is bound to find this a steal-deal. What do you think of the phone?

Specifications:

This phone features a 5.45-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layered on top. The front camera offers 8-megapixel while a 13-megapixel primary camera. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor and offers a removable 3,500mAh battery. The JioPhone Next operates on a newly developed version of Android 11 which is called as the “PragatiOS” specifically built for JioPhone Next. Google features such as Read Aloud and Translate Now are also integrated into the phone. Users can also make use of Google Assistant for Jio specific queries pertaining to Jio Saavn and My Jio.

The Major USPs of the phone are:

  1. Translate:

    • Currently 10 languages will be supported. English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Other languages will be added in the future.
    • You can use this feature from Camera or the overlay button on the softkeys
  2. Read Aloud:
    • Use Read aloud feature to listen to the text on your mobile screen (Same mentioned 10 languages can be used)
    • To use the feature tap on overview key from bottom navigation bar and tap on ‘Listen’ with the screen selected
  3. Camera:
    • An easy to operate camera with powerful features

    • You can use Voice assistant to make calls, search anything on internet, play music or videos etc.

Also, It’s not just about the price but at what price someone can take the phone home. Today No-one offers financing for phones below 8,000 (Even in phones above 8K, you can get financing only with Credit and Debit card).
