Auto Expo 2023: TATA Motors Launches Impressive Range Of Environmentally Friendly Vehicles

Tata Motors arrived at the 2023 Auto Expo ready to compete with a futuristic approach. The automaker showcased a few CNG models in addition to many innovative EVs and ideas.

Tata Motors has always been at the forefront in working towards solutions to achieve zero emissions. Taking a step further in this regard, these commercial mobility solutions are all powered by environment-friendly fuels such as natural gas, electricity, and hydrogen.

For example, H2 or Hydrogen fuel provides high energy density. This increases the range and reduces the charging time. Similarly, electric vehicles are emission-less, pollution-reducing, and efficient, thereby providing an easy driving experience.

Aiming for net-zero emissions from commercial vehicles by 2024, Tata Motors unveiled 14 vehicles and ideas that are poised to take India forward in making world-class green, clean and smart mass mobility solutions.

Vehicles launched at the Expo

Let’s take a look at the vehicles from the commercial vehicles segment that were unveiled at the expo.

  • Signa (28 to 55T range), underpinned by the new generation, all-energy architecture and modern cabin for the M&HCV segment.
  • Azura (7 to 19T range), underpinned by the new generation architecture for the I&LCV segment, with all new exteriors and interiors.
  • Ultra E.9- Zero emission, smart logistics city truck for intracity high-capacity urban cargo transportation.
  • Magic EV- Electrified version of India’s favorite last-mile passenger transport.
  • Prima E.28K- Zero emission versatile tipper concept for mining and closed-loop applications.

The following two vehicles were on display:

  • Ace EV- Zero emission last mile distribution small commercial vehicle.
  • Starbus EV- State-of-the-art, zero-emission, urban public transport solution.


Apart from these, the following vehicles were also revealed:

  • Yodha CNG & Intra V20 BiFuel (long range)- new CNG-powered pick-ups.
  • Prima G.35K- India’s first LNG Tipper for heavy-duty applications.
  • Winger: Premium version of popular Winger with luxurious interiors that re-defines the ride comfort.

The showstopper of the expo from the commercial vehicles segment was exhibiting the decarbonization pathway concept for long-haul trucking, which came with 4 clean propulsion technologies integrated into the Prima range: Hydrogen ICE, Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV, Battery EV, and LNG.

Ideas unveiled at the expo

We all know that the advantages of the use of hydrogen in mobility solutions are many.

At the expo, unique hydrogen propulsion concepts were unveiled, thereby taking the country a step nearer to making tomorrow a safer, smarter, and greener India.

  • Starbus Fuel cell EV- India’s first Hydrogen fuel cell bus for commercial application.
  • PRIMA E.55S- India’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered Tractor concept.
  • PRIMA H.55S- India’s first hydrogen ICE-powered concept truck.

Use of Social Media for Creating Buzz

Dedicated social media handles for commercial vehicles – trucks, small trucks, buses and vans, were launched to create buzz around the expo.

The advantages, features, and technical details were shared through the same.

Looking at the need for sustainable mobility solutions, Tata Motors brought forth some of the best-in-class range of commercial vehicles through this Auto Expo. These upcoming vehicles will go a long way in making the country safe, smart, and green.
