In 1991, Anand Mahindra had to appease the protesting workers at Mahindra & Mahindra plant in Mumbai. Why? Just because he had refused to give a Diwali bonus until the workers increased their productivity.

The 36-year-old deputy managing director held his ground until the workers calmed down.

2. Determination

India was undergoing a major economic change when Anand Mahindra had the arduous task of growing the company. In 1991, when the Licence Raj came to an end and the foreign players entered the Indian market.

With Mahindra’s sheer determination Mahindra & Mahindra company grew into one of the largest conglomerates in the country despite an increase in the competition.

3. Dream Big

It was Mahindra’s big dreams that transformed Mahindra & Mahindra to what it is today. Without dreaming big and working for it, success can never be achieved.

4. Evolve

Getting adjusted to new trends is one great skill Mahindra has. Belonging to the old school of corporate honchos, Mahindra is active on social media platforms, in other words, he has been good in connecting with the younger generation and knows his consumers well enough.
