Creative Automobile Billboards That Made Heads Turn And Take Notice

Automobiles keep improving and so should their ads. With so much choice, advertisers and marketers understand that it is imperative to be on the top of consumers’ mind. With new and increasing use of technology, one can ensure a higher percentage of customers towards dealership centres. And billboard advertising has been one medium by which, this has been achieved. Let’s check some of the most creative billboard advertisements ever made.

1. Porsche

2015 saw one of the most creative billboard campaigns by Porsche in Melbourne, Australia. Using car recognition technology that was developed by oOh! with digital experiences using IBM’s software and oOh!’s own content management system ARGLYE, the digital billboard identified incoming Porsches before revealing a personalised special message for 10 seconds, for each of its cars detected, that passed by.

2. BMW

As a part of the launch campaign of ‘BMW 3 Series Gran limousine’ campaign in India, a creative teaser was created with the tagline in LED lights that read ‘Coming Soon,’. They were placed at targeted areas in metro cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, and Mumbai, where there are higher traffic jams and are major routes leading to BMW dealership centres. The billboard emphasised on luxury and extra length of the model, revolving tires and innovation. The front and end headlights were blinking in the background making the billboard easy to spot from afar.

3. Audi & BMW iconic clash

The legendary tussle between two top car brands of the world, can be seen from the above picture. Using chess as a reference, both the auto brands kept checkmating each other, and giving us a campaign to remember.

4. Audi

The Audi R8 GT is a super car that can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. And to convey this to the audiences, Audi, had a simple billboard put across warning people to move aside, giving way to their speed machine.

4. Mustang

Banking on the speed factor of its cars, Mustang has always come up with creative billboards, promoting the same.

5. Volkswagen Polo

The billboard effectively conveys how tough Polo is.

6. Volvo

With a hilarious message of the car being almost completely safe from everything but out-of-control circumstances like bees, birds and UPFOs.

7. Nissan

An old one, this ad by Nissan for their Juke is simply brilliant, conveying that their car was just standout.

8. Mini Cooper

Helping position the Mini as an extremely safe car, with a seatbelt in place, the message conveyed in on point.
