E-sim, Specs, Price & Everything You Need To Know About Apple iPhone XR, XS, XS Max

Apple has finally launched three new iPhones – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. The interesting thing about these phones is the company has introduced dual-SIM functionality on its smartphones for the first time. Features and Specifications

Thickness and weight

Apple iPhone XR thicker than iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max at 8.3mm. Both the iPhone XS and XS are 7.7mm in thickness.

Also if we talk about the weights, iPhone XR weighs 194 g, Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max weigh 177 g and 208 g respectively.

Water resistant properties

iPhone XR is IP67-rated dust and water resistant, it can submerge up to 1 metre into the water for 30 minutes. Apple iPhone XS and XS Max, have IP68 certification and they can be put 2 metres into the water for 30 minutes.

Display

Apple iPhone XR has 1,792 x 828 pixels resolution on the 6.1-inch IPS LCD screen, with 326 ppi pixel density. The iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen with 2,436 x 1,125 pixels resolution. Apple iPhone XS Max, offers a 6.3-inch screen with 2,688 x 1,242 and pixel density of 458 ppi

RAM

Apple iPhone XR comes with 3GB RAM. iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have 4GB of RAM.

Storage

iPhone XR has storage options: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have storage upto 512GB along with 64GB, 256GB models.

E-sim

Camera

Apple iPhone XR comes with a 12MP main camera and a quad-LED dual-tone flash. Apple has even introduced Portrait mode on the iPhone XR, despite having a single sensor.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have 12MP (f/1.8) + 12MP (f/2.4) dual rear sensors camera which can help in shooting 4K videos. there’s a 7MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls that can also record 1080p Full HD videos.

SIM

Apple, for the first time is using Dual SIM concept but it is slightly different as the company has added digital SIM, more popularly known as e-SIM.

What is e-sim?

Embedded-Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) stays on the device and cannot be physically pulled out like the traditional SIM slots. It can be used in a variety of devices including smartphones. E-SIMs work in the same manner as the traditional SIMs but are less prone to mechanic failures.

E-SIM can be activated remotely by the supported service provider. For example, if you want to switch from Aitel to Jio, you don’t have to buy a physical card and place it inside the device. Apple will associate with these Airtel and Jio for eSIM support on iPhones in India.

Price

The price of iPhone XS in India is Rs. 99,900 for the 64GB variant, while the 256GB and 512GB models will cost Rs. 1,14,900 and Rs. 1,34,900 respectively. Similarly, iPhone XS Max will be available for Rs. 1,09,900, Rs. 1,24,900, and Rs. 1,44,900 respectively. iPhone XR, has been priced in India at Rs. 76,900 for the 64GB storage variant, Rs. 81,900 for the 128GB model, and Rs. 91,900 for the 256GB variant.
