In order to put an end to the hazardous effects that plastic has on our environment, a small step taken by this firm called Envigreen can prove to be one of biggest and best in times to come. Started in the year 2012, Envigreen Biotech India Private Ltd produced India’s first 100% biodegradable substitute for plastics. Inspired by Narendra Modi’s ‘Swach Bharat’ campaign Envigreen is going to mark its debut in the Indian market this coming year.

Envigreen is not just a brand, it is a Green Technology. Envigreen’s products are made from natural starch, vegetable oil derivatives, and vegetable waste. These products are non-toxic to the environment, animals, and plants. Evergreen contains no conventional plastics at all.
Envigreen products have an electric dissipative feature (suitable for electronic wrapping) along with anti-static feature-dust repellent, oxygen barrier-corrosion prevention, oil/grease resistance. It dissolves in hot water (80 degree Celsius) and softens in water at room temperature.

Yes, these products have been tested by several technologically supreme bodies and have been marked 100% safe and edible for the animals. As a proof that these plastic bags are indeed organic, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Central Institute of Plastic Engineering, TUV-SUD South Asia and Technology and Sriram Institute for Industrial Research, all have given the products a green chit. Some of the tests conducted were boiling water test, burning test, hot iron test, edible test and strength test. In each and every test, the products were approved, giving them a go-ahead from each body.
