Facebook Now Has A Snooze button To Mute Friends, Pages For 30 Days

| Published on December 16, 2017

Facebook has become a platform on which millions of users spend their time daily. Along with getting the latest updates from the friends and the world, sometimes we do get irritated by the posts of certain pages and people on the social media network. In order to solve this issue, Facebook has come up with a snooze button with which users will be to mute friends and pages for a time limit of 30 days. Users can select this Snooze option from the top-right drop-down menu of any post. Check out this video that is posted on Facebook for muting accounts.

This new feature from Facebook has been launched to ensure that no post of the muted accounts, pages, groups shows on user’s newsfeed during that time. The account one mutes will not get notified about this, and users will get a notification before the mute is about to expire, with the option of muting the same for another 30 days. Facebook product manager, Shruthi Muraleedharan notified about this in a blog post which read

“Seeing too many photos of your uncle’s new cat? Is your friend tempting you with endless photos of ramen on her Japan trip? It turns out, you’re not alone,”

This decision has been made by Facebook after getting a lot of feedback on what users want to see in their timelines and many users wanted such option in which they can have the power to mute someone for a period of time. Features like Unfollow, Hide, Report and See First also lets Facebook users alter their news feed.

Do let us know what you think over Facebook’s decision over starting this option.
