In a recent case, A Pune based man named Dinesh Kukreja got duped after he got a phone call from a man who acted like an Airtel employee. How did it all happen?
Dinesh got a call on his phone in which the man asked his SIM card details, he agreed to share those details as the man warned or it will stop working. After getting the information, he deactivated the SIM and created a new SIM which was of course linked to the Bank account. It is easy to guess what he must have done after this.
Is the criminal spotted?
The policemen are investigating the matter and a case under Sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of Indian Penal Code and Section 66(a)(d) of Information Technology Act has been registered against the unidentified man.
