First 10 Indian Startups To Enter The Unicorn Club In 2022

In the past few years, India has witnessed many startups turn unicorns. While the number had been constantly increasing for the past decade, the numbers were adding gradually.

However, the past couple of years has seen a dramatic increase in the number of unicorns. In 2021 itself, India witnessed the birth of 44 unicorns with a total valuation of $ 93 Billion.

We are just halfway through 2022, and we already have 17 unicorns entering the club. Though the list is ever-growing, here are the first 10 startups to enter the unicorn club in 2022.

#1. MamaEarth

On January 1, 2022, MamaEarth had raised $52 million in a round led by Sequoia, taking its valuation to $1.2 billion.

#2 Fractal Analytics

in January 2022, Fractal Analytics raised $360 million in funding from the private equity firm TPG Capital Asia. This added to Fractal’s net worth and made it a billion-dollar firm.

#3 LEAD School

LEAD School raised $100 million in January 2022 from investors led by GSV Ventures and WestBridge Capital taking its valuation to $1.1 Billion.

#4 Darwinbox

In January 2022, HR Tech platform Darwinbox raise $72 million in funding in the Series D round led by Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) along with existing investors Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia India, Lightspeed India, Endiya Partners, 3One4Capital, JGDEV, and SCB 10X.

#5 DealShare

In January 2022, DealShare raised $165 million from investors led by Tiger Global and Alpha Wave Global taking its valuation to $1.6 billion.

#6 Livspace

Livspace raised $180 million in a Series F round led by KKR, a global investment firm in February 2022 making it enter the billionaires club.

#7 ElasticRun

ElasticRun raised $300 million in funding led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. With the help of the investment, the startup was valued at $1.5 billion.

#8 Xpressbees

Xpressbees raised $300 million in a Series F funding round earlier this year which took the firm’s valuation to $1.2 billion.

#9 Uniphore

In Feb’22, Uniphore raised $400 million in funding which took its valuation to $2.5 Billion.

#10 Hasura

Hasura had raised $100 million in a fresh funding round led by Greenoaks Capital taking its valuation up to $1 Billion.
