Here’s How Video Streaming Platforms Are Helping Stand-up Comedians

The Internet has made a huge impact on the entertainment industry. Making good name as a standup comedian involved sp many hurdles that have been removed by video streaming platforms like Youtube, Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime and many more. The taste of Indian audience is changing and now they are accepting the newcomers for fresh content. The new OTT are also happy to experiment with these comedians as no one knows from where success can come in this digital content loving age.

These video streaming platforms give a lot of freedom to the writers and performers because they can choose their content themselves because they have the support of the audience. Also, these performers act as a complete package for the sponsors because they know how to connect with the audience and promote their products and services in a way with is way more effective than the conventional advertising.
Of course, the challenges with the web content are also different. One has to be updated with all the latest happenings because present-day audience connects better if the comedian adds the latest masala in the jokes.

It all started with youtube but now many other platforms such as AltBalaji, Hotstar, Voot, Amazon Prime have started to support the comedians. According to the experts in entertainment industry standup comedy is here to stay and this will open gates for the talented people who were struggling to find work from years. The main problem for these artists was Bollywood movies didn’t give them the exposure and chances that they needed and now the same directors are helping them through the video streaming platforms.

Another thing that is going as a positive for these content creators is that they are promoting regional content which was missing in comedy. Now, there are comedians of almost every region of India who are showing their talent with great skill. And, it’s not like that the people of different states are only consuming content of their regional language, subtitles are helping people to enjoy the comedy written in other languages too.
It is a win-win situation for the comedians because they are getting support both from these platforms and the sponsors. This could be the reason why many youngsters are trying to entertain people.
