Jeff Bezos Offers Raises & 1 Lakh Jobs To People Unemployed By COVID-19

| Published on March 27, 2020

It’s been a while since the world is suffering because of the Cornavirus Pandemic and the state of affairs has not really been the best in many countries. While China has almost curbed its COVID-19 cases, the rest of the world is going through major lockdowns with hospitals filling one after the other with more reported cases springing up everyday. Amidst all this, we rely on the generosity of various billionaires across the world who are helping people combat their losses. One of them is Amazon’s Founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos.

Amazon delivery executives are still delivering household essentials, medicines and safety props worldwide. They are risking their lives to help everyone go through their lives normally. Jeff Bezos salutes his employees and also remarks their potential to work through this massacre. “I’m not alone in being grateful for the work you are doing. I’ve received hundreds of emails from customers and seen posts on social media thanking you all. Your efforts are being noticed at the highest levels of government, and President Trump earlier this week thanked this team profusely,” said Bezos.

He revealed in an interview that Amazon is looking to hire at least 100,000 new employees and is offering help to those individuals, especially who have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus outbreak. “We’re hiring for 100,000 new roles and raising wages for our hourly workers who are fulfilling orders and delivering to customers during this period of stress and turmoil. At the same time, other businesses like restaurants and bars are being forced to shut their doors. We hope people who’ve been laid off will come work with us until they’re able to go back to the jobs they had,” he said.

Jeff Bezos realises that there is no manual on how to cope with this pandemic. But the struggle is real and everyone is in it together. He concludes stating, “Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. I know that we’re going to get through this, together.”
