The recent news of Parag Agrawal becoming the CEO of Twitter has become the most sensational global event. The internet is gushing with messages to congratulate yet another Indian for leading one of the tech giants in the world.

Parah Agrawal is from Ajmer Rajasthan and pursued his graduation from IIT Bombay. His recent achievement has highlighted the list of very talented alumni from the institute that have been leading or have led some of the most powerful positions in India and across borders.

Kailasavadivoo Sivan

Kailasavadivoo Sivan is the current Secretary and ex-officio chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation and Space Commission (ISRO).

Sivan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Madras Institute of Technology in 1980 and got a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1982. Later, he started working in ISRO. He earned a doctoral degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2006.

Manohar Parrikar

Manohar Parrikar served as Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 until his demise in 2019. He served in the National Democratic Alliance government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Defence Minister of India from 2014 to 2017.

He completed his secondary education in Marathi and went on to graduate in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1978.

Parag Agrawal

As of November 2021, Parag Agrawal is an Indian-American technology executive and the chief executive officer of Twitter. Jack Dorsey announced on 29 November 2021 that he was resigning as CEO of Twitter and Parag will be taking over his role effective immediately.

Agrawal joined Twitter as a distinguished software engineer in 2011 and became the chief technology officer in 2017. Parag held 77th rank in the JEE in 2000 and obtained his B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2005.

Nandan Nilekani

Nandan Nilekani is the co-founder of Infosys and is the non-executive chairman of Infosys. He got this position by replacing R Seshasayee and Ravi Venkatesan, who were the co-chairs of the board, on 24 August 2017.

Nilekani studied at the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School and St. Joseph High School Dharwad, Karnataka PU College Dharwad and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
