Since the pandemic hit the world in 2020, a lot has changed. From how we meet and greet others to the way we eat and sleep, everything is now different. Moreover, the way we work has seen the most drastic change all over the world.
With work from home in place in many of the leading companies, employees have been trying their best to get used to the new normal.
While it started all fun and games with people taking up on social media their relaxed work look and expressed how it has helped them to stay closer to their loved ones, one and a half years down the line, and it is safe to say that majority are struggling.
With work from home comes a lot of high expectations and workload. People have now been posting about how stressful these work calls have become.
And a recent post from Paytm‘s CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has sparked a debate on social media on the work zoom calls.
Sharma’s post read, “Just finished my probably, the longest Zoom call. 7 hours 45 mins.”
Just finished my probably, the longest Zoom call.
7 hours 45 mins.

As soon as Sharma posted this tweet, the internet got divided in opinion. While some were wondering what the agenda might have been and if it was about the prospective IPO, there were many who pointed out the obvious flaw in conducting such a long work-related call.
People pointed out how unhealthy it may be for someone’s mental health. Some also made jokes about the person who was responsible to note down and share the minutes at the end of the day.
Take a look at all the mixed reactions Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s tweet received.
Haha….is it a routine in Paytm to have such calls… thinking about working conditions and work life balance
