PUMA, the sports apparel brand has vowed to support up and coming West Indian cricketers by providing equipment such as bats and pads. And how did this come about? Read to find out more!
The national team’s ex-pacer issued a call and reached out to all former players to support youngsters in the Caribbean. Benjamin is known for his tenure of having taken 161 wickets during the 80s and 90s, where he became an icon. In conversation with an Indian reporter, he also reached out to the Indian cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar back in the day to help equip youngsters with the necessary resources to grow and build in this career. In due time, he also thanked Mohammad Azharuddin for donating some of his equipment.

PUMA noticed all this and decided to assist Benjamin in his effort of empowering the upcoming generation. In a tweet posted by RVCJ Media, which reports about Benjamin reaching out to Sachin Tendulkar asking for help with regards to equipment, PUMA retweeted it and telling that they hear Winston and want to get the kids ‘padded up’

The role RVCJ played in being able to reach out to a large audience that garners enough attention for a brand to realize it and take action for the same is quite commendable. It’s safe to say that India was able to play a crucial role in being able to bring assistance and support to the ones who will be taking the cricketing world forward.

Following up with a tweet of bats and shoes that are to be sent to these kids, PUMA did good on their commitment and made an initiative in supporting such a cause. The tweet stated that the equipment is all packed and ready for take off for the WI cricket team.
