PVR Takes A Dig At OTT Platforms With Its New Campaign

| Published on September 9, 2020

Since the coronavirus lockdown was implemented in India on March 24th, 2020, our life has practically gone down to watching shows and movies on major OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and even Voot. That being said, multiplexes like PVR are ready for a kickstart again, being the largest and most luxurious cinema watching experience in the country.

PVR

By launching a new campaign ‘Ouch the Couch’, PVR takes a dig at these OTT channels exclaiming how being a couch potato has definitely changed people’s lifestyles and it is time to go out in the open and restore life to normalcy, all with the safety measures of course. The ad also shows how ads can interrupt the watching experience and how movie halls offer a large screen, better sound and the joy of snacking and howling through with other fans, at the same time. We surely do miss all of that!

Through this campaign, PVR has asked fans to share their boring couch moments and stand a chance to be a part of an upcoming film, alongside major celebs. PVR is destined to make a good comeback once it has permissions to restart the movie experience for consumers across the country. And that’s not even all of it! PVR has time and again assured consumers about its safety protocols, by teaming up with brand Dettol, for their sanitisers and sanitiser dispensers. All the common areas and utilities are supposed to be sanitised properly before every show once operations resume.

The permission for opening cinema halls was turned down in August. Another plea has been generated and we are all hopeful operations start soon. It has been a few difficult months since we have all been stuck at home. As 2020 is nearing its end in the next 3 months, we are hopeful of living the new normal with relaxed regulations.
