Reasons Why Steve Jobs Never Designed A Single Program For Apple

| Published on February 26, 2022

While Microsoft and Apple have been arch rivals, one cannot deny the fact that these companies have given the world, two legendary icons- Bill Gates and the late Steve Jobs.

While Bill Gates is an exceptional coder, having written his first at the age of 13, Steve Jobs in his whole life hadn’t written a single line of programming code. But what made the brand built by him achieve super success, that even today it is one of the most favorite and recalled brands globally?

An astute businessman

Jobs was an exceptional businessman with a keen sense of product and its future. His vision for Apple was something no one could ever replicate.

An interest in technical aspects

Though he knack for understanding technical concepts, he knew how they could be made relevant. And so, what made Apple the brand it is, is that its technical faculty made him believe in the power of object-oriented programming. He developed a great sales pitch around this.

Also, though he wasn’t really an engineer and couldn’t design anything original himself, he had the ability to technically alter any design or even add to it. And he knew what he wanted rom the product and what the consumer would expect from it.

Knew how to sell

His instinctive personality made him concentrate on the business part of Apple. He knew exactly the What and How of selling. Coming from a modest background, Jobs was always interested in aesthetics and sales. And when he joined forces with Steve Wozniak, a hardware genius who was an exceptional coder, Apple became the brand it is.

So, while Steve Jobs didn’t know how to code, he managed to create a brand that will be used by generations to come. Steve Jobs was an example who showed that it isn’t necessary to know every skill and ace at it, as long as you have the basic knowledge and know what you want from it. Today, when there are many more options for skill upgradation and outsourcing is also as easy as it gets, it is relatively easier to make it big, just like Apple did!
