Reliance Industries Is The 20th Best Employer, Samsung Group Tops The List

Forbes’s Sixth Annual World’s Best Employers List in partnership with Statista is out. And the results are startling, to say the least.

Here is a list of the top ten companies that are the World’s Best Employers this year.

1. Samsung

Found in 1938, the conglomerate headquartered in Seoul employs more than 2.6 lakh employees. And for the third consecutive year, Samsung has been rated the best employer in the world. What is intriguing is the fact that the company ranked 106th on the World’s Best Employer list in 2019.

Today, it is also ranked as one of the best employers for new graduates.

2. Microsoft


The U.S-based Internet and software company employs more than 2.2 lakh people. It is also one of the best employers for women along with new graduates. It ranks second on the list.

3. IBM

One of the top-regarded companies and best employers for veterans, IBM is the third-best global employer this year. It is also the world’s largest employer with 2,97,800 employees this year.

4. Alphabet

Replacing Amazon and clinching the fourth position is the IT and Software company Alphabet. The parent company of Google employs more than 1.5 lakh employees.

5. Apple

One of the world’s top women-friendly companies, Apple is fifth on the list. It currently employs 1,54,000 employees.

6. Delta Airlines

Atlanta-based Delta Airlines is the sixth-best global employer, employing 81,000 employees.

7. Costco Wholesale

The company has 2,88,000 people working for it. It is the seventh-best employer in the world.

8. Adobe

Led by Shantanu Narayen, San Jose-based Adobe provides digital media and marketing solutions. It is the eighth-best employer in the world.

9. Southwest Airlines

Transportation and Logistics giant Southwest Airlines currently employs 55,000 people and is the ninth-best employer in the world in 2022.

10. Dell Technologies

IT and Electronic giant Dell Technologies is tenth on the list. Headed by Michael Dell, the company employs 42,560 employees.

Other companies on the list

The above ten companies are followed by – Lockheed Martin, Cisco Systems, BMW Group, Amazon, Decathlon, Adidas, AIRBUS, Ferrari and Fraunhofer Society, in this order.

Reliance Industries ranks 20th on the list of the World’s Best Employers. This Mukesh Ambani-led Indian conglomerate currently employs 2,36,334 people.

How was the list compiled?

Research company Statista surveyed 1,50,000 full-time and part-time workers from 57 countries working for multinational companies and institutions. They were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family and to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.

This was done to determine which companies excel with respect to factors like corporate impact and image, talent development, gender equality, and social responsibility.

This year’s list comprised 800 companies that received the highest scores.
