This Smart Move From UberEats Is Changing The Dynamics Of Advertising In Tennis Matches

| Published on January 22, 2019

Online food delivery startup Uber Eats is trying to get the attention of its potential customers with a new move. ‘The Australian Open’, is a tennis tournament and first of the four-yearly Grand Slam events. Uber Eats has embedded its ads within the game of Tennis in a perfect manner.

If you are a cricket fan, you must have got the chance to witness ads on sports grounds during breaks in the past. Cricketers having bananas or some drinks were seen coming in Pepsi kiosks which would rush into the ground during breaks.

UberEats has done something similar but the best part is that the ads have been integrated in a way that they seem like a part of in-game interaction until the Uber Eats delivery makes its entry.

Talking about this move, Steve Brennen, director of marketing Uber Australia and New Zealand said “The intention of the ads has always been to entertain and excite our audience, plus have some fun with the inclusion of celebrities and unexpected heroes,” in a recent interview.

The ads feature Caroline Wozniacki, Nick Kyrgios, Rafael Nadal, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Daria Gavrilova along with the ground staff. The one featuring the cameraman is perhaps the most engaging.
