PV Sindhu is the sole Indian in the top 25 of 2022’s highest-paid athletes. “PV Sindhu set to rewrite endorsement story for athletes”
The only athlete from India to make the top 25 on Forbes’ annual list of the highest-paid female athletes in the world is badminton legend PV Sindhu, who is ranked 12th overall after WNBA player Candace Parker and ahead of tennis player Leylah Fernandez.
According to the TAM “AdEx-Female Sports Celebrity Endorsement” Report, the second half of 2022 will see a 30% increase in ad volume over the first half.
In compared to the second half of the year 2022, there was a 3 percent decrease in the amount of advertising featuring male sports celebrities.
Badminton sports account for half of the total ad volume in the Top 10 sports linked with female sports celebrities. One of the most popular sports overall, cricket, came in fourth place in terms of ad volume share.
Pusarla V. Sindhu topped the list of the Top 10 female sports endorsers in Y 2022, accounting for over half of the entire share of the advertising volume. Unlike male cricketers who predominately appear on lists of male sports endorsers, just one of their female counterparts made it into the Top 5 list.
