What Made KGF: Chapter 2 A Phenomenal Success In Just A Week Of Release

| Published on April 23, 2022

India is currently experiencing an entirely new wave. No! we are not talking about any new COVID wave but the wave of KGF: Chapter 2.

When it comes to sequels, KGF: Chapter 2 has broken all records undoubtedly. The movie has been praised by all who have watched it. A lot went into making the movies a success that it is today. From pre-release marketing to post-release strategies, the makers have left no stone unturned.

Since its release on April 14 in five languages, so far, the film has raked in a massive Rs 645 crore worldwide. Out of this, the Hindi language movie has earned a total of Rs 240 crores.

The owners of the multiplex all over the country are especially thrilled with the much awaited release and highly anticipated success of the movie.

KGF: Chapter 2 adds in to the list of blockbuster movies recently released like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Pusha: The Rise, and Kashmir Files.

But what made this movie do phenomenally well?

The fact that the first part of the movie was a blockbuster itself formed a great base for the part two to be a success. KGF: Chapter 1, that was made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, had a box-office collection of Rs 250 crore.

The movie is still one of the most watched movies on the OTT platforms today.

The other reason for the huge success of the movie can be attributed to the rise in popularity of south Indian movies all over the country. While the movies have always done well down south, it is in the recent years that the northern states have become an equally big fans of the genre.

While the lead actor Yash is a big star in the south film industry, the second part also has Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon which makes the fan following grander that before.

The South Indian movies are known for its massy feel. The movies give a whole new definition to anti-heroes and people have been loving it more than ever. Yash’s role as Rocky or Allu Arjun’s as Pushpa, remind us of the angry young man we have all loved since the 80s, Amitabh Bachchan.

Whatever may the reason be, the movie is doing tremendously well on the box-office and is on the track to break all the previous records.
