WhatsApp To Stop Working On Some Smartphones From 1st Feb

| Published on October 4, 2019

Bad news for WhatsApp addicts and old smartphone users

In case you haven’t updated your software on your smartphones it’s almost time you did because the instant messaging app Whatsapp has decided to stop it’s services on older iOS and Android devices from February 1, 2020.

WhatsApp

While iPhone users will need iOS 9 or later to run Whataspp, Adroid users using 2.3.7 and older version will need an update or they shall no longer be able to create new accounts, nor reverify existing accounts.

“For the best experience, we recommend you use the latest version of iOS available for your phone,” WhatsApp said.

“We don’t explicitly restrict the use of jailbroken or unlocked devices. However, because these modifications might affect the functionality of your device, we can’t provide support for devices using modified versions of the iPhone’s operating system,” it added.

Whataspp currently has over 400 million users in India.
A good reason for an update we believe!
