| Published on January 4, 2023

Introducing Six Supervisors Who Will Listen to the Pitches in Season 2 of Shark Tank India.

Shark Tank India’s first season demonstrated that it was now time for India to appreciate the start-up and innovative cultures.

On January 2, 2023, Season 2 of Shark Tank India premiered.

But this time around, a few of the judges from season 1 won’t be participating.

Ashneer Grover won’t be participating this year. In the previous season, Grover delivered the most memorable one-liners. Amit Jain, the CEO, and founder of CarDekho will succeed him. The co-founder of D2C startup Mamaearth, Ghazal Alagh, will also not be participating in this season.

Marketing Mind compiled a list of the judges or sharks for this year:

Vineeta Singh

Vineeta Singh gained fame when she turned down a job offer of Rs 1 million per year just days after receiving her post-graduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. She is the CEO and Founder of Sugar Cosmetics, the company that seeks to transform the Indian skincare and cosmetics market.

Considering that she founded Sugar Cosmetics as a woman, Singh has frequently talked about the difficulties she faced and her experience in doing so.

Today, she competes in marathons, ultramarathons, as well as the ironman triathlons in addition to leading a thriving business with a valuation of close to $500 million.

Peyush Bansal

A few of the popular favorites from season one, the CEO of Lenskart, will return to the show as a shark. Before going into the retail eyeglasses industry, the 37-year-old worked for Microsoft in the US.

He started the eyeglasses company in 2010, and according to certain media reports, it will be more than billions in upcoming years.

Aman Gupta

BoAt, an electronics company started by Aman Gupta, aims to make devices fashionable. Gupta, a chartered accountant by background, has Warburg Pincus, Qualcomm Ventures, and InnoVen Capital among other major investors supporting his business.

The boAt had sales of 3,000 crores by the end of FY22 and has been expanding at a rate of 100% annually.

Namita Thapar

Namita Thapar graduated from accounting school when she was 21. She subsequently obtained her MBA and worked in finance for six years. Ms. Thapar returned to India and join her father in the leadership of Emcure Pharmaceuticals following a successful stay in the US.

She entered Emcure as it was a Rs 500 crore business and guided it to grow to a Rs 6,000 crore business today.

Anupam Mittal

In addition to being an investor and entrepreneur, Mittal is well-recognized as the creator of Shaadi.com. He also owns a proptech business called Makaan.com and a mobile entertainment firm called Mauj Mobile in addition to the matrimony website.

Mittal, who is based in Mumbai, is well-known for having invested in many well-known start-ups, including Ola Cabs, BigBasket, Rapido, Druva, and many more. Among all of the sharks, he is the most active angel.

Amit Jain

Amit Jain’s path from poverty to wealth is classic. In the garage of their home, he and his brother Anurag Jain founded GirnarSoft, a software outsourcing business, in 2006. After nearly a year of working on the startup, they went to the Delhi Auto Expo in 2008. They returned with a concept that inspired them to establish CarDekho.com, a website that would make it easier to purchase and sell vehicles.

Jain expanded the business to the point where it had a $1.2 billion valuation.
